About CASA


CASA Mental Health is an established non-profit organization delivering holistic, culturally-safe wrap-around mental health services to Albertans and their families.

CASA provides mental health service to the missing middle - mental health treatment for diagnosed children and youth, in between prevention and promotion in primary and community care, and acute treatment in hospital.

CASA's team of mental health professionals are trauma experts committed to delivering service in collaboration with community partners.

This includes assessment and treatment for up to 4,000 children, youth and their families each year, from community outreach settings to intensive treatment programs.


About the Role
The Education Assistant offers administrative support to the Professional Development and Education (PD&E) team.

Responsibilities include development and maintenance of the CASA education calendar; presentation development and production support; events registration; editing and formatting of documents; tracking of expenses; taking minutes; filing and other administrative duties as assigned.

The Education Assistant will work closely with the CASA Communications team to ensure timely production of communications materials.


The Education Assistant will:


  • Develop and maintain an annual education calendar.
  • Respond to education questions and redirect to coordinator or team members.
  • Assist the PD&E team with the development of education and training materials and resources.
  • Collect information from content experts through interviews and literature searches.
  • Edit, revise and update draft and existing materials.
  • Provide support to CASA's Equity, Diversity and Inclusivity (EDI) team, in addition to PD&E.
  • Provide timely feedback to managementrelated issues that may need to be addressed, as they arise.
  • Act as a resource for the team with respect to privacy and copyright legislation related to developing original materials.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent in studies emphasizing writing or communications.
  • A minimum of two years of relevant experience.
  • Workplace experience with software specific to document design (e.g. Canva, Microsoft Publisher, MailChimp).
  • Excellent writing and editing skills.
  • Training and experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills, and interpersonal and conflict management skills.
  • Demonstrated organizational, multitasking and prioritization skills.
  • Demonstrated experience as an educator and/or facilitator.
  • Demonstrated experience in the preparation, design and delivery of clinical education workshops and training to a broad range of audiences.
  • Valid driver's license and access to transportation is required.
