HORIZON Retirement Management is a fast-growing manager of private residences for seniors, with close to 2,000 units in thirteen residences in Greater Montreal and Eastern Ontario.

Short description


Reporting to the Vice-President and COO, the Regional Operations Manager is a member of the Executive Committee and contributes to the realization of the company's vision and mission.

They are responsible for the development, supervision and control of all operational activities, including leasing and marketing, as well as the human, financial and material resources of the residences under his supervision.


They ensure the synergy and coherence of all the residences' operational spheres, as well as the efficiency of sales, leasing and marketing activities.

A mobilizing leader, they promote team cohesion and works closely with the corporate directors, aligning their objectives and priorities with the continuous improvement of operational performance, revenue growth, profitability, quality of interdisciplinary services, as well as increasing occupancy rates and enhancing the customer experience.


They provide strong leadership, acts collegially and has a constant concern for the development, commitment and respect of resources, promoting the attraction and retention of talent.


Main tasks and responsibilities

  • Participate in the establishment of strategic orientations and priorities, as well as the development and implementation of objectives, policies, programs and operating plans.
  • Supervise and collaborate with General Managers in budget planning, considering operational needs and in line with the company's strategic orientations.
  • Monitor and control residence budgets and optimize the performance of allocated resources.
  • Ensure, at all times, that residence operations meet senior management expectations and comply with established standards and requirements.
  • Ensure the implementation of priority action plans and management controls.
  • Ensure that the customer experience is a constant priority within its teams.
  • Work with corporate management to promote a quality service offering.
  • Ensure the ongoing development of resources under their supervision, conduct performance evaluations and act as coach to General Managers.
  • Foster an environment conducive to healthy working relationships and a positive organizational climate.
  • Participate in the assessment, planning and execution of asset maintenance plans.
  • Contribute to the development, analysis and assessment of performance indicators, management dashboards and improvement plans aimed at achieving targeted results.
  • Introduce innovative practices in customer prospecting, visibility and advertising, notably through open houses, promotional events and thematic activities.
  • Optimize rental, promotional and marketing activities.

Qualifications required

  • Undergraduate degree in administration or other relevant training
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in managing multidisciplinary teams, including 2 years in the private seniors' residences sector

  • Experience in managing multi-site teams (an asset)

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite programs
  • Specific requirements: Local management requiring frequent travel and regular presence in residences.
