Description

The Payroll & Benefits Coordinator is responsible for the organization's payroll processing, for all hourly, salaried, seasonal and commission paid personnel in accordance with appropriate Federal or Provincial legislation.

The role administers all employee benefit and retirement programs, processes and manages all benefit premium remittances, and processes all remittances to the Canada Revenue Agency and the Workers Compensation Board.

Confidentiality and integrity must set the standard within the company.


Responsibilities & Duties

  • To process the organization's payroll accurately and in a timely manner (biweekly).
  • Enrolls new hires in all mandatory benefit programs.
  • Remove all terminated and retired employees from benefit programs as required.
  • Enrolls employees in optional benefit programs as requested and sets up employee deductions to collect these premiums.
  • To manage all benefit payments for employees on leaves of absence (Maternity, Parental, Adoption and personal).
  • Manages the daytoday administration of the Group RRSP program.
  • Conducts the onboarding process for all head office new hires. Ensures all onboarding / new hire paperwork is complete and provides an overview of the company benefit programs.
  • Process the annual incentive plan payments as directed.
  • To process all garnishment and maintenance enforcement orders in accordance with the law.
  • Maintains all employee personnel files.
  • Other duties as requested.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Payroll experience working knowledge of the entire payroll process.
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Knowledge of UKG payroll system is an asset.
