Tasks:
- Collect and document user's requirements and develop logical and physical specifications
- Confer with clients to identify and document requirements
- Conduct business and technical studies
- Research, evaluate and synthesize technical information to design, develop and test computerbased systems
- Develop data, process and network models to optimize architecture and to evaluate the performance and reliability of designs
- Plan, design and coordinate the development, installation, integration and operation of computerbased systems
- Conduct reviews to assess quality assurance practices, software products and information systems
- Conduct research and provide advice to other information systems professionals regarding the collection, availability and suitability of data
- Write specifications and technical reports
- Detect and troubleshoot irregularities and malfunctions
- Consult with clients after sale to provide ongoing support
- Act as technical consultant in a particular field of expertise
- Collaborate with specialists to develop programs for clients' special needs
