Tuby's is an expert in tires and automotive services. This position is located out of our Store location in Dorchester, ON. We are presently seeking a qualified individual to fill the position of Diesel Service Technician. The Diesel Service Technician reports directly to the Store Manager. We are looking for someone who can continue to help the organization grow, is hard-working, and aligns with our Employer of Choice and Service Provider of Choice values.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Interact with Service Advisors to obtain work orders and customer service specific requirements
Inspect motor in operation, road test motor vehicle, and test automotive systems and components using computerized diagnostic and other testing devices to diagnose and isolate fault
Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of diesel systems including fuel system, brakes, steering and suspension, engine and drive train, emission control and exhaust, cooling and climate control, and electrical and electronic systems using hand tools and other specialized automotive repair equipment
Test and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer's performance specification
Perform scheduled maintenance service, such as oil changes, lubrications and tune ups
Advise customers and/or Service Advisor on work performed, general vehicle condition and future repair requirements
Inspect and test mechanical units, such as engines, transmissions, axles and brake systems, to locate faults and malfunctions
Diagnose faults or malfunctions and confirm findings with supervisor or determine whether to repair or replace unit
Repair or replace mechanical units or components using hand and power tools
Test and adjust units to specifications to proper performance

QUALIFICATIONS:

Diesel Service Technician Apprenticeship Certificate in accordance to the Ministry of Colleges, Training and Universities
Able to perform Advanced PLT
Consistently able to work independently
Intermediate drivability diagnostics
Valid Driver's License with a clean abstract
