Scope


Reporting to the Manager of Healthy Communities, the Support Services Manager is responsible for providing support in a variety of areas relating to Administration and Emergency Support Services within the Parks, Recreation and Culture Department.

This position will provide leadership and guidance to the administrative team overseeing departmental organizational systems and processes.

This position will play a key role in ensuring the Parks, Recreation, and Culture department administrative services and systems meet the needs of our community.

In addition, this position provides leadership and administrative support to the Emergency Support Services program, and special projects.


Responsibilities:


The role includes:
Providing support in a variety of areas relating to the workings of the Parks, Recreation and Culture Department; Providing leadership and guidance to the administrative team overseeing departmental clerical support and resources; Researching and reporting on potential grant and other revenue opportunities; Updating the PRC Policy and Procedure Manual; Ensuring the Emergency Support Services response plan is kept current; Monitoring and reporting on the PRC administrative and capital budgets; Compiling corporate reports and memos to Council; Compiling the departmental Annual Service Delivery Plan; Organizing staff appreciation and exempt training for PRC; Special Projects (Civic Distinction Awards, etc.)
