An integral member of a multi-disciplinary Community Mental Health Team and in coordination with other community agencies and professionals, you provide a range of mental health services to children, youth and their families, when the child or youth is suffering from serious emotional, psychological, behavioral or psychiatric illness.


As a Clinician, you provide direct clinical services such as intake, assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and crisis intervention for children, youth and their families.

Consulting with community agencies, schools, hospitals, and other ministry programs, you understand the importance of being involved in community education, development, coordination and prevention/early intervention programs.

You build and maintain relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders in the community to ensure that conflicts are resolved and appropriate outcomes are achieved.

Job Requirements:


  • Ph.
D.

in Clinical/Applied Psychology, Counselling Psychology,
OR PsyD,
AND *registered with, or eligible for registration with the College of Psychologists of British Columbia as a Psychologist.


  • Note: If you are registered as a Psychologist in another province, equivalencies for out of province applicants may be considered by the College of Psychologists of BC. Please contact the association for registration requirements in BC.
  • NOTE: If your degree was obtained outside of Canada, you need to confirm it has been assessed for equivalency through the International Credential Evaluation Services (ICES).
You must provide a basic report by the closing date of this posting to be considered.

  • Completion of a psychological pre
- or post-doctoral internship of 1600 hours in a child and youth mental health or hospital setting with specialization in formal psychological assessment, diagnoses, and treatment of mental health disorders.

  • Experience in Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology.
  • Minimum of one (1) year fulltime equivalent experience working with children and youth and their families, with responsibility for providing a wide range of community based mental health services. Experience must include providing assessment and mental health therapies for children and youth with moderate to severe mental health difficulties for a minimum of one (1) year. (Experience relates to providing services with a focus on children and youth who experience complex mental health conditions including, but not limited to, psychotic disorders, concurrent disorders, emotional dysregulation, trauma, anxiety, depression and issues related to suicide. Practicum and/or volunteer experience with children, youth and families may be considered equivalent.) Must possess and maintain a valid class 5 BC Driver's license with no restriction or equivalent (i.e. from another Canadian Province).
Preference may be given to applicants with any of the following:


  • Two (2) years or more of experience working with children and youth and their families, with responsibility for providing a wide range of community based mental health services including assessment and mental health therapies for children and youth with moderate to severe mental health difficulties for 2+ years.
  • Experience using Dialectical Behaviour Therapy.
  • Who selfidentify as having an Indigenous heritage (First Nations, Métis or Inuit) with the required combination of education and experience.

About this Position:

Currently we have one (1) full-time position.

Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to one (1) day at home per week as per the Telework Agreement.

Employees of the BC Public Service must be located in BC at the time of employment.

An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent, full-time and part-time vacancies within the North/East Fraser Service Delivery Area.

This may include Float positions.
