This position is primarily responsible for the negotiation, preparation, tracking, and finalization of contracts (i.e., General Terms & Conditions, Service Level Agreements, Airworthiness Agreements, etc.,), in support of the airframe maintenance organization and 3rd Party Line Maintenance Contracts outside of Canada.

This position will also be the primary interface to maintain a healthy relationship with the Commercial Vendor and will be accountable for the Performance Management of the vendor based on KPI's & will share with the vendor the improvements based on targets of performance.


The role is responsible for all commercial issues including PO processing, vendor performance monitoring and reporting as well as formal vendor management contractual reviews.


These responsibilities include financial analysis and performance management of the various contracts, to identify issues and opportunities in collaboration with the management, and subsequent development of solutions and identification of opportunities to improve the operational and financial performance of the business.

The incumbent will report to the GM, Airframe Maintenance.

Qualifications

  • University degree in Engineering, Commerce or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 610 years of experience in a contract administration environment in an aerospace company
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in contract negotiation with emphasis on commercial aspects
  • Familiarity with the contents of standard aerospace contracts
  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently, creative thinking and problemsolving skills
  • Ability to maintain strong and effective relationships with internal and external clients
  • Must have excellent organization and planning skills, proven ability to handle multiple priorities and work independently and in a team environment
  • Experience with process improvement and reengineering tools
  • Proficiency with MS Office, TRAX

Accountabilities (Responsibilities):


  • Prepare, negotiate and track contracts in support of the airframe maintenance organization and 3rd party line maintenance contracts outside of Canada for assigned region.
  • Act as a primary point of contact for contracts. Jointly hold negotiations and track contracts for assigned region.
  • Examine contractual performance requirements, delivery schedules, and estimates of costs of material, equipment, and production to ensure completeness and accuracy
  • Solicit and review bids for maintenance services and coordinate this process with the respective operating unit, to ensure they meet AC bid requirements, including the comparison/competitive data and reports.
  • Review and approve contracts including amendments to or extension of these contracts.
  • Responsible for implementing consistency across various contracts and examining contractual performance requirements, delivery schedules, labor and material costs, and ensure completeness and accuracy.
  • Review bids for maintenance services in collaboration with respective operating units and the Strategic Procurement department, to ensure bids/vendors meet AC requirements, including the review and comparison of competitive data and reports.
  • Process scope of work through Annex Bs for management approval and issuance of Purchase orders in line with agreed contractual terms
  • Provide leadership regarding the understanding and compliance contractual rights and obligations, and provide training as necessary to the operating teams.
  • Compile benchmarking data in order to identify opportunities and ensure competitive bids/pricing is received.
  • Develop contractual KPIs and monitor routinely with the various vendors. Identify issues and opportunities and provide management reporting
  • Maintain the departmental database/files of all executed contracts and ensure files are audit ready
  • Project management, including process mapping, and process reengineering activities which include benefit identification and tracking.
  • Lead and be accountable for longterm projects with financial impacts and lead costsaving initiatives.
  • Support the Finance team in finalizing monthend accruals and any financial analysis.
  • Analyze financial and performance data and report performance and opportunities to the various operating teams.
  • Audit contracts and process to ensure requirements and standards are consistently applied.
  • Liaison with numerous internal functions (i.e. Legal; Finance; HR; Strategic Purchasing) as well external entities such as existing and potential vendors, other airlines, etc.
