Position Overview:
Supervise and co-ordinate the Process Shop and Laboratory personnel activities.
Under the direction of the Paint and Process Shop Manager, carry out activities to monitor adherence to contractual requirements, applicable specifications, quality procedures and work instructions in the functions of metal treatment, and chemical analysis.
What You Will Do:
- Supervises NDT, Process Shop and Lab personnel in the functions of metal treatment, chemical analysis, and special processes.
- Coordinate activities to ensure satisfaction of required work schedules and priorities.
- Maintain inventory of departmental chemicals, supplies and PPE as required
- Initiate ordering of chemicals, PPE and supplies to maintain processes.
- Carry out the incoming and outgoing reviews/updates/additions for all calibrated tools
- Maintain departmental records and files.
- Set and monitor calibration schedules for tools
- Draft reports and correspondence
- Liaise with all IMP Depts and the customer on technical matters as required.
- Other duties as assigned by the Paint and Process Manager.
What You Will Bring:
- Education: Graduate Technologist or equivalent
- Demonstrated knowledge of physical and chemical properties of metals and processes. Formal training in chemistry and physics.
- Must be conversant with Aerospace terminology, understanding of drawings, aircraft and aircraft systems and DND/DoD Aircraft Maintenance Policies and Procedures.
- Must be knowledgeable with material processes such as heat treat, cad plate, anodise and CCC.
- Experience and knowledge of Quality Assurance Procedures related to ISO 9001 standards is required.
- Has the knowledge and ability to use inspection, measuring and test equipment.
- Must possess the ability to write detailed reports.
- Must be able to use a personal computer and be familiar with using Microsoft Office.
- At least 5 years experience in aircraft maintenance, overhaul, and manufacture with 2 years experience in a supervisory role preferred.
- Must be able to to write clear concise reports, chair meetings and work well under pressure with a minimum of supervision.
- Must be eligible to meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Secret Level II Security Clearance through PSPC
- Contract Security Program, and Transport Canada RAIC clearance.
