Summary:
The Royal Canadian Yacht Club was founded in Toronto in 1852 to serve both as a yachting recreational club and an unofficial auxiliary of the Royal Navy in the defense of the waters of Lake Ontario.
We are one of Canada's premier sailing, sports and social clubs, The RCYC operates year-round from two facilities: our Island Clubhouse on the Toronto Islands and our City Clubhouse in downtown Toronto.
With over 4300 Members, we offer extensive services in Food and Beverage along with Fitness, Sports and Sailing facilities.Core Competencies:

Job Duties:
- Coordinate with all departmental Managers and Accounting staff for month end closing procedures
- Prepare and approve journal entries for financial statements
- Conduct and review all balance sheet reconciliations
- Draft various financial statements for review and approval from the Director of Finance
- Supervise and assign daily tasks to Accounts Receivable and Payable staff
- Process payroll and act as backup for payroll function
- Manage internal audit of inventory of club assets, retain up to date records
- Coordinate annual audit procedures and prepare audit working papers
- Complete Provincial Sales Tax, Harmonized Services Tax remittance forms and prepare all cheque requisition for payment
- Produce various management reports and/or special projects as required
- Perform all other tasks as assigned by the Club
Requirements:
- College or University diploma/degree in the workrelated field
- Accounting designation (CPA) or currently enrolled and working towards accounting designation
- Private Club or Hospitality experience is as asset but not required
- Experience with Jonas Club Management software is an asset
- Experience with ADP WFN is required
- Exceptional leadership and organizational skills
- Minimum 3 years work experience in a similar position overseeing a team of Accounting staff
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fastpaced environment
- Serviceoriented with excellent communication skills
- Excellent time management and organizational skills, strong analytical skills.
- Proficiency in MS Word & Excel
- Criminal background check is required
Hours of Work:
- Standard business work week (5 days / 40 hours)
- Incumbent may be required to work the occasion evening or weekend when required for month end or audit season.
