    Description

    Knowledge/Skill Requirements:

  • Subject Matter expert with minimum 3 years' experience in Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment orchestration
  • 2+ years' of hands-on experience in setting up logging and monitoring using one or more tools like ElasticSearch, Kibana, ECK, Filebeat, Logstash, Graylog, Prometheus and Grafana
  • 2 year' solid hands-on experience cloud deployments to Azure, AWS or GCP
  • 2+ years' experience and expertise in platform as a service using Pivotal CF or IBM Bluemix
  • 2+ years' of experience and good trouble shooting skills and practical usage of various source control systems (Git, SVN)
  • Solid understanding of Software Delivery Lifecycle
  • 2+ years' of experience in architecture and design understanding behind containers and work with Docker, Kubernetes or similar technologies
  • Working knowledge of programming/scripting in one or more of the following languages: Java, C, C++, groovy, Python, Shell
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in the field of Computer Science, Systems or Engineering
  • Three or more years of similar professional experience.
  • Accountability
  • The Dev Ops Engineer will help development teams (in house and external vendor suppliers) build, integrate, manage and deploy releases into all environments using a hybrid methodology (Agile + Waterfall). This role requires collaboration with all participants across the SDLC: software developers, Quality Assurance, Automated Testing, Infrastructure, Production Owners, Operations, Channels, and Business Units representatives as they continuously develop, deploy, test and implement technology changes.
  • The incumbent will be accountable to continuously improve the Software Development processes to drive measurable efficiency and productivity improvements for technology delivery teams.
  • The Dev-Ops Engineer will liaise with Technology and Project leadership teams to ensure project changes, enhancements, fixes, and emergency patches are implemented to production environments using secure and controlled procedures. Responsibilities also include, acting as point of contact for planning and securing lower environments, addressing cross-projects linkages and dependencies, tracking and communicating of changes as they are implemented.
  • Key Technical Accountabilities:
  • Own the integration development toolset that supports code management, release management, continuous integration
  • Troubleshoot and Manage lower environments to ensure their availability to support development and testing
  • Provide subject matter expertise on the approach to build and deliver technical changes for a collection of core systems
  • Consult and partner with Infrastructure and Support technology teams to design sustainable tools and processes, including contributing to regular infrastructure planning and health check reviews
  • Plan and manage code productions across lower environments
  • Partner with infrastructure partners to manage the implementation of Production changes.
  • Key Internal and External Contacts
  • The Dev-Ops Engineer reports to the Manager Dev-Ops and Release Management.
  • The incumbent will work closely with the other members of the Development/QA team.
  • The Dev-Ops Engineer will regularly work with the Development, QA team and External Vendors during the design and development, as well as QA team for bug fixing and testing coordination.
