As a GVF
Monogastric Specialist, you will provide consultation and support to swine and poultry producers throughout Ontario, which means you will get the opportunity to get in barns, build relationships, and establish how you can help move key aspects of their operations forward.

Prospecting efforts and great service will lead to growing business in your region and advancing your knowledge of the industry and monogastric nutrition.

What you'll do:

  • Provide excellent sales and service support to swine and poultry producers throughout your assigned region.
  • Work to expand existing swine and poultry business by passionately pursuing all business opportunities.
  • Build positive, strong, long lasting relationships with producers in your region, providing them with the best customer service, assisting them in solving challenges and seizing opportunities for their operation resulting in the farm becoming more profitable.
  • Create quality customer specific feeding programs which aim to meet the customers goals and objectives.
  • Ensure production and performance measures along with other farm goals and metrics are met.
  • Resolve all sales, nutritional, or management issues quickly and effectively.
  • Work collaboratively with producers to evaluate and improve key performance indicators on farm.
  • We have a great team of dedicated and skilled people you can leverage across the GVF group of companies. Work alongside these team members to strengthen your position in an effort to ensure the customer is well supported.
  • Network within your territory and community to better understand the industry in your area and help farmers with their business.
  • Uphold GVF's reputation and culture by functioning with a high level of honesty and integrity in all your dealings with customers, suppliers and fellow staff.
  • Represent GVF with knowledgeable professionalism at all industry related events within and outside of your region in Ontario.

Your background includes:


  • Diploma or Degree with an agricultural focus is an asset we also like experience
  • Relevant work experience servicing, supporting and selling to swine and poultry operations
  • Experience working on an active livestock farm
  • Experience in sale of feed or nutritional additives, or related sales experience, is an asset
  • Thorough knowledge of the swine, poultry and livestock industry at large
  • Highly developed interpersonal, communication and problem solving skills
  • Willingness to learn and ability to quickly advanced your monogastric nutritional knowledge
  • Technology driven with good working knowledge and experience using CRM systems and Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
  • A valid Canadian G Driver's License is required
  • Ability to travel within rural Ontario 5 days a week

Working with us:

This is a permanent, full-time position.

Your home base will be where you live, which means you will work remotely with access to our office facilities in Cambridge, Ontario.

You will travel in your established region up to 5 days a week. As a Monogastric Specialist you will have a fixed base salary plus an unlimited earning potential through commissions. GVF offers a competitive starting wage and vacation. You'll also be eligible for benefits and RRSP matching upon commencement of employment.
