- A current annual registration card with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Current BCLS
- Evidence of continued education is an asset
- Combined with sound patient care nursing skills must have effective interpersonal and organizational skills
- Reliable, flexible, creative, self-directed professional
- Acute Care experience is required
- Recent Surgical experience required
- Orthopaedics experience is a strong asset
- Positive attendance and work record essential
- Must meet the physical demands of the position; performing substantial walking, standing, lifting, twisting and bending as required for patient care and other responsibilities
- As an active member of an interdisciplinary team is responsible for the delivery of client-centred nursing services for assigned patients
- Contributes to the development of a realistic discharge plan
- The ability to perform as a coach/mentor/consultant and to use sound critical thinking skills is key to achieving patient outcomes
