    Key Qualifications:

  • A current annual registration card with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Current BCLS
  • Evidence of continued education is an asset
  • Combined with sound patient care nursing skills must have effective interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Reliable, flexible, creative, self-directed professional
  • Acute Care experience is required
  • Recent Surgical experience required
  • Orthopaedics experience is a strong asset
  • Positive attendance and work record essential
  • Must meet the physical demands of the position; performing substantial walking, standing, lifting, twisting and bending as required for patient care and other responsibilities
  • Position Summary:

  • As an active member of an interdisciplinary team is responsible for the delivery of client-centred nursing services for assigned patients
  • Contributes to the development of a realistic discharge plan
  • The ability to perform as a coach/mentor/consultant and to use sound critical thinking skills is key to achieving patient outcomes
  • Participates in program planning, continuous quality improvement and evaluation
  • Responsible and accountable for the provision of nursing care in accordance with the "standards of nursing practice".
