We are looking for highly motivated, values driven team players to join our Health and Fitness team.

The Personal Trainer will be responsible for delivering quality, safe and values-based training sessions to members who have purchased additional services.


Location:
Peter Gilgan Family YMCA, 410 Rebecca Street, Oakville, Ontario


Hours of work:
Part-time position, various shifts including early mornings, late evenings and weekends


Salary & Benefits:

Responsibilities:


  • Develop and deliver effective and enjoyable health and fitness programs and actively coach YMCA members to achieve their personal health and wellness goals
  • Understands and demonstrates the vision of the YMCA by developing meaningful, longlasting relationships with members through purposeful positive interactions
  • Be an Ambassador for the YMCA through consistent, excellent membership service and support
  • Assists in the planning and coordinating of adult oriented special events and assists with other special events
  • Responds to inquiries regarding fitness programs promptly and acts as an Ambassador of the Wellness Department by providing excellent membership service and support
  • Maintain high member retention by proactively establishing new and maintaining existing member relationship and individual coaching
  • Responsible for tracking and reporting training sessions to Team Leader
  • Promote, sell and deliver Personal Training to members
  • Adhere to Adult HFA Policy, Child Protection Policy, health, and safety procedures
  • Actively participates in our "Clean Culture" by contributing to the cleaning and disinfecting equipment and surfaces
  • Responsible for monitoring of equipment to maintain safety within the Wellness Centre; as well, reporting in writing any equipment defects or breakdowns immediately to Supervisor and Manager of Building Services

Requirements:


  • Recognized Personal Trainer Certification
  • CPFLA CFC-PT, YMCA Individual Conditioning or similar Certification an asset
  • Excellent customer service skills/interpersonal skills and communications skills
  • Minimum 6 months experience working as a fitness instructor in a small/large group or semi private training, coach or as a personal trainer
  • Current CPR and First Aid
  • Current Police Reference Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening
