Igloo Erectors is a family owned & operated company with its head office in Calgary, Alberta established in 1987. We are currently seeking an Estimator to work out of our Calgary Office.

This position is full-time, permanent, and full-time in the office.


Responsibilities:


  • Gather proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents to a new tender.
  • Attend and participate in weekly sales meetings. Inform all meeting attendees about newupcoming projects, also awarded, successful or notsuccessful projects.
  • Read, understand, and interpret architectural drawings and specifications.
  • Examine drawings for conformity and errors.
  • Identify the suitability and availability of materials.
  • Prepare any documents required for a sitemeeting; prepare a checklist and sketch of the building.
  • Attend site meetings as required.
  • Provide accurate quantity takeoffs/estimates for assigned jobs.
  • Quantify scope of work from plans and /or site conditions.
  • Review site, specifications, drawings, scopes of work, and contracts ensuring all required aspects are quoted as required.
  • Request pricing from the manufacturers, suppliers, sub contactors, etc.
  • Prepare and submit cost proposals and budget proposals with required documentation.
  • Assist in follow ups with clients and General Contractors.
  • Take part in specialist or multidisciplinary team meetings.
  • All other duties assigned.
Qualifications and Experience

  • 2+ years direct experience in the construction field with rainscreen cladding or sheet metal and/or exterior building envelope.


  • Basic computer knowledge

  • Microsoft Office programs, administration skills such as printing documents, scanning files, keeping an organized file of projects.
  • Graduate from engineering, architectural or construction management program is an asset.
  • Previous experience in AUTOCAD, and Bluebeam is an asset.
  • Excellent communication, both verbal and written.
  • Knowledge of local construction market and building codes.

Salary:
$40,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
