Position SummaryResponsibilities:
- Play an integral role as a business partner responsible for all aspects of Human Resources Management for a dedicated Metro Logistics customer
- Contribute to the development and implementation of HR programs that support the strategic plans of the business unit and Metro Logistics
- Support the operations leadership team to achieve their business goals and to grow their leadership skills
- Provide expertise on all human resources matters including employee relations, performance management and organizational development
- Play an integral role in recruitment, onboarding, HRIS maintenance, HR Metric tracking, file maintenance, and health and safety programs.
- Is accountable to ensure the business unit's needs are met through appropriate involvement and collaboration with Operations and HR Shared Services team
- Adapt quickly to change, maintain a corporate culture of excellence and implement decisions based on Metro's core values.
- Use knowledge of HR best practices and superior communication skills
- Provides leadership and consultation to Management in the areas of employee relations, performance management, salary and performance review, corrective action and documentation, recruitment and selection, coaching and development, and policy/legislation awareness.
- Ensures the maintenance of a positive employee relations climate through the development of policies and programs to improve employee satisfaction; the implementation of activities to assess climate/culture; the promotion of inclusive communication practices; and the resolution of employee issues through the effective use of open door, and investigation and counselling techniques.
- Actively participates in the department's strategic plan by providing input and consultation on HR issues.
- Manages the recruitment, orientation and training planning processes within the established budget to ensure the appropriate level and quality of resources are in place.
- Ensures selection, transfer, and promotion processes are in place; develops costeffective recruitment strategies; counsel Managers on selection and total compensation issues; identifying significant issues/trends and recommending changes as needed.
- Develops, sources and delivers training programs and provides advice and resources on training/education/career development options. Conducts training needs analysis where appropriate and ensure the tracking of all training/developmental activities
- Ensures effective and efficient administration in the areas of employee records and HRIS; WCB claims management; compensation, benefits and pensions and other employment programs.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 to 10 years in Human Resources field as a Manager in a supply chain
- Understanding of Employment Standards and legislation
- Excellent PC skills, including Microsoft office suite; advanced Word skills required
- Welldeveloped written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Extremely organized, strong attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize.
- Experience working in a professional and confidential capacity
- Payroll and benefits experience an asset
Education:
- Postsecondary education/certification in Human Resources preferred
