Reporting to the Associate Director, Facility and Operations the incumbent is responsible for the daily operational requirements of the Dalplex aquatic center. Key Responsibilities
    • Recruits and selects 80 plus casual part-time aquatic personnel annually through a process of personal interviews, physical skill evaluation, certifications and documentation procedures.
    • Supervises and leads a semi-annual formal evaluation of all part-time staff and where necessary, handles the discipline and/or dismissal procedure.
    • Develops, organizes, delivers (as required) and evaluates all courses and services, recreational swim schedules and special events, aquatic leadership courses on a quarterly basis according to the needs of user groups and in line with budget projections.
    • Maintain and monitor the aquatic facility and all assets and equipment to ensure a safe environment, that all assets are safe to use and in proper working order.
    • Prepares and makes recommendations to the Associate Director regarding the annual aquatic budget, complete with data driven analysis and forecasting. Evaluates the budget monthly identifying deficiencies and reporting significant discrepancies to the Associate Director along with recommendations to regain lost revenues.
    • Facilitate communications and public relations by ensuring all information regarding the aquatic center and all programs and services is current while responding positively to all inquiries and concerns expressed by all users and colleagues.
    Note Due to operational requirements, the successful applicant is required to work in-person on campus. Required Qualifications
    • Undergraduate degree in recreation or business administration with three years' experience in the management of an aquatic facility (or equivalent combination of training and experience).
    • Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.
    • Proven proficiency in the coordination of and on-site management of aquatic events including highly regarded local, national and international swim meets and other aquatic related events.
    • Proven proficiency in planning and executing in depth budget development and analysis.
    • Experience in successfully supervising staff.
    • National Lifeguard Certificate, Intermediate Workplace First Aid +CPR - C, Oxygen Administration
