A-1 Restoration Building Envelope Solutions Inc. has over 35 years of continuous expansion and success.


We are still growing, and are seeking an additional Working Construction Foreman to oversee and execute building restoration projects at jobsites across Ontario.


Reporting to the site Project Manager, the
Working Foreman
(Concrete & Foundations) oversees, drives, and participates in the day-to-day operations of our sites.

Responsible for supervising 2-8 crew members, this role is best suited to construction leaders with an in-depth knowledge of building restoration and repair methods and a passion for health and safety.

This is a full-time, year-round position with opportunities for career development for those who are willing to travel


In this role, you will be required to:

  • Oversee and execute restoration and repair projects, including balcony repairs, flat roofing (EPDM, TPO, HRA), parking garage repairs, foundation repairs, caulking and waterproofing (spray, roller, and sheet/cold applies) at jobsites across Ontario.
  • Operate heavy construction equipment such as an excavator, backhoe, forklift, bobcat, miniexcavator.
  • Monitor work quality and production by ensuring that crew members complete work per the job's scope and specifications.
  • Ensure site and crew safety at all times by demonstrating and enforcing health and safety legislation, as well as the policies and code of conduct contained in our Employee Handbook.
  • Complete daily and weekly site documentation, including safety and equipment checklists, vehicle tracking logs, hazard identification, and Toolbox Talks, ensuring timely return of paperwork to the office.
  • Conduct site orientations and sitespecific equipment training with new crew members.
  • Input crew time clock entries remotely using our mobile software, ensuring adherence to scheduled hours of work and job code.
  • Attend preproject startup meetings with Project Manager to review scope of work, schedule, and materials.
  • Identify unforeseen or upcoming project needs and deficiencies and communicating them in a timely manner to the Project Manager.
  • Daily interaction with Project Manager to communicate project progress, required equipment, manpower needs, job scope changes, or any other issues that arise on the job site.
  • Safeguard from theft and damage all Companyprovided gear, tools, equipment, and materials.

Requirements:


  • Minimum of
    5 years experience in a Working Construction Supervisor/Foreman role.

Required Training: Working at Heights, WHMIS, MOL 5-Steps, First Aid, Skid Steer, Forklift, Elevated Work Platform, Swing Stage, and Basics of Supervising training.

  • Certified expansion joint installer (MME-TremcoBASF) an asset.
  • Experience operating a skid steer, excavator, backhoe, forklift, bobcat, mini excavator.
  • Experience with welding, with a valid welding ticket is an asset.
  • Valid G Class Driver's Licence and Clean Driver's Abstract.
  • Ability to drive a 1ton CVOR truck, with trailer.
  • Knowledgeable excavation, identifying soil types, trench safety, backfilling and soil compaction.
  • Knowledge of and compliance with the OHSA and construction regulations, as well as applicable building codes.
  • Experience with the methods and equipment required to successfully complete concrete restoration, waterproofing and foundation repair work.
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate a crew to meet site production goals and deadlines.
  • Professional and positive attitude with coworkers, clients, crew, bystanders, and tenants.
  • Effective problemsolving skills and ability to make decisions that consider worker health & safety and project goals.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.
  • Physically fit and able to lift 50lbs safely.

Pay Rate:
Starting at $32.00/hr and up. Wages are competitive and are determined based on qualifications and experience.
