GFL Environmental is looking for a
Equipment Operator to join our team in
Winnipeg, MB

Proficient in operating various equipment, such as forklift, bobcat, backhoe, track hoe, compactor, and steer equipment, for baling, loading, and moving waste material.

Requirements:

Forklift certification required.
Ability to obtain Transfer Station/Landfill Operations Certification if necessary.
Experience operating excavator, frontloader, baler, backhoe, bull dozer, and compactor.
Must wear safety shoes and eye protection.
Physical ability to frequently lift/push/pull up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate equipment for baling and loading waste material into trailers.
Perform daily inspection and maintenance checks on equipment.
Grease/lubricate equipment and check/add fluids daily.
Steer, guide, and drive assigned equipment at the site, substituting for absent operators as needed.
Clean tracks of heavy equipment daily.
Use a twoway radio for communication regarding work activities and priorities.
Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, company policies, and directives.
Maintain the appearance of the grounds and facility.
Attend safety and branch meetings.
Perform other duties as required by management.
