    Description

    Our client is looking for a Director of Care to join our clients team in Selkirk, MB. The Director of Care will be responsible for leading and managing the care team, ensuring that the highest standards of care are provided to our clients.

    Overview:
    As Director of Care, you are responsible for providing leadership to the care team to ensure exceptional delivery of care to the client's residents.

    What you will be doing:

    Planning, directing, coordinating, and supervising the overall program for residents.

    Being responsible for the admissions and discharges of residents.

    Meeting with residents and their families to resolve problems/concerns/complaints and reviewing suggestions on a needs be basis.

    Maintaining contact with residents to ensure a high quality of care.

    Determining nursing staff requirements, where applicable, and selecting and hiring competent, qualified nursing personnel.

    Provides daily healthcare assists to residents as required

    Working in cooperation with the Executive Director to hire, direct, train and schedule nursing personnel and may reprimand, suspend or recommend discharge of employees.

    Completing required monthly reports for both the Executive Director and Senior Management.

    Being responsible for control and safekeeping of drugs and narcotics, and supervising the drug administration program, where applicable, including the administration of medication by all registered staff.

    Performing other duties, as required.

    What you must have:

    Current registration as Registered Nurse (RN)

    Current CPR and First Aid.

    Experience in geriatric, rehabilitation or long-term care nursing is desirable.

    Experience with Dementia/Alzheimer's care is an asset.

    Knowledge of the nursing process.

    Possession of skill in planning, coordination and supervising a comprehensive nursing care program.

    Valid drivers license.

    Must demonstrate excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.

    Must demonstrate an active interest in ongoing education and participate in mandatory educational in-services.

    Must be computer literate.

    Received at least two (2) doses of a Health Canada approved Covid-19 vaccine.

    Salary/Rate Range: $95,000 - $112,000
