Loewen's Construction is looking for a fulltime, permanent Construction Safety Officer.

We are a concrete formwork company who operates in the Greater Vancouver area and our current project is in Surrey.

We are looking for someone to promote a safe and healthy work environment in compliance with appropriate industry and regulatory standards.

Competitive benefit package is available after 3 months. Work is Monday to Friday with daily and Saturday overtime available.

Job Responsibilities Include

• Monitoring safety compliance of employees and subcontractors
• Respond to injuries, accidents and incidents and complete reports to be filed with necessary parties
• Conduct safety meetings and toolbox talks
• Facilitate and participate in site inspections
• Conduct site specific orientations for new and young workers

Valuable skills and qualifications

• Certified Construction Safety Officer ticket
• Occupational First Aid Level 2 ticket
• Familiarity with SiteDocs is an asset
• Proficiency with digital and paper reporting
• Communication skills for both verbal and written formats
• 2 years previous work experience in CSO or safety focus position
• Highly organized and people management skills
• Having a working understanding of carpentry
