Epp Siepman Engineering is actively looking to fill the following full-time position for Mechanical Design Technician.

We are a service-oriented Winnipeg firm providing mechanical, electrical, and sustainability engineering consulting for buildings. We offer a varied and challenging workload, and value a relaxed work culture in an open-office environment.


Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years of related experience
• Experience with Autodesk Revit
• Strong problemsolving skills
• Extremely strong general computer skills and the ability to learn new programs quickly
• Selfmotivation and the ability to manage multiple priorities

Key Responsibilities:

• Design of mechanical systems for buildings including plumbing, fire protection, HVAC, including detailed load calculations for all systems, system layout and coordination
• Model and design mechanical building systems using primarily Revit
• Coordinate project information with clients and other design disciplines
• Produce working drawings using Revit and AutoCAD
• Work under direction of Project Manager, with mínimal supervision
• Provide technical support and assistance to engineers and designers
• Evaluate building heating and cooling loads, size and select equipment, and conduct construction site reviews

The following would be considered an asset:

• Experience or familiarity with Canadian commercial construction methods and design processes
• Familiarity with AutoCAD would be considered an asset
• Possess a Mechanical Engineering Technology Diploma or equivalent
• Registered as a C.E.T or C.Tech with Certified Technicians and Technologists Association of Manitoba (CTTAM) would be preferred
• Experience in construction either personally or through work experience
• Experience as a consulting mechanical designer in commercial & institutional buildings
• Familiarity with the National Energy Code for Buildings
• Experience in design and/or construction with HVAC and Controls systems in buildings
• Experience with HVAC load and building energy modeling software (eg. IES, Carrier HAP, Trane Trace, Energy Plus)
