Being the North's premier broadband and mobile wireless technology company, SSi has been providing Internet service to over 50 remote and underserved communities across the NWT and Nunavut since 2005.

Continuing its expansion, SSi is currently deploying and delivering mobile wireless broadband services across the Eeyou Istchee James Bay region of Québec.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?


Join us as our Receptionist and become the heartbeat of our office Your mission: to ensure every moment in our workspace is filled with comfort, joy, and inspiration.

As the Receptionist, you'll be the maestro orchestrating delightful experiences. Greet visitors with warmth, handle phone inquiries with finesse, and ensure seamless navigation to their destinations. Your administrative prowess will shine as you maintain records, take meeting minutes, and manage office logistics.

You'll also be the guardian of cleanliness and organization, keeping our spaces pristine and functional.

From overseeing office supplies to scheduling maintenance and supporting travel arrangements, you'll play a vital role in keeping our operations running smoothly.


The general duties include:

  • Welcome customers, patrons, or visitors by greeting them either in person or by telephone, and determine the nature and purpose of visit, and direct or escort them to specific destinations.
  • Answer telephones to screen or forward calls, providing information and taking messages.
  • Supporting the leadership team with administrative tasks when required.
  • Perform filing and data entry as needed.
  • Take meeting minutes in Kanata Health & Safety Committee to keep track of safety problems and to state what recommendations have been made.
  • Keep conference rooms, front office desk, kitchen, and clubhouse clean.
  • Water and take care of interior and exterior plants to achieve a functional and aesthetically pleasing space.
  • Order food for business lunches and meetings when needed.
  • Purchase and maintain groceries.
  • Maintain and order office supplies.
  • Assist and support booking travel arrangements when needed.
  • Assist with building maintenance appointments and other operational activities.
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality in all interactions.
WHAT DO YOU NEED?

  • Postsecondary education in business or office administration or equivalent is an asset but not required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to convey information promptly and effectively.
  • Strong time management and organization skills to successfully handle multiple responsibilities and competing priorities.
  • Strong customer orientation to build strong internal and external customer relationships, deliver customercentric solutions and meet their customer needs.
  • Availability to work additional hours on occasion or on short notice.
  • Valid G driver's license.
