Mission

We are looking for a Civil Technologist to join and grow with our dynamic, expanding Transportation Planning team in Western Canada. You will work closely with our local team of professionals, in a variety of functions, delivering projects including geometric assessments, safety audits, functional plans and traffic impact assessments for our public and private sector clients.

You will have the opportunity to take part in our hybrid work model which includes flexible work hours, working from home and in our Calgary Office.

Primary Responsibilities

• Assist project engineers in carrying out and reporting on technical tasks requiring data collection, accuracy in calculations, completeness of data and adherence to prescribed standards and methods
• Create and modify figures, drawings and conceptual plans using AutoCAD and Civil 3D
• Conduct field visits to gather site specific data, observe traffic patterns and driver behaviours
• Assist with preparation for and logistics at public engagement events, including coordinating venues, advertising, and compiling feedback received
• Participate in internal and external project meetings, assist with preparation and presentation, and keeping meeting records
• Assist with project controls including progress reporting, invoicing, quality assurance

• Civil Engineering Technology diploma or equivalent combination of education and industry experience (open to new graduates)
• Interest or experience in transportation and highway planning (e.g. operations, alignments, geometry, constraints identification, staging, stakeholder engagement support and reporting)
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong organizational skills to plan, organize and implement work within a specified budget while meeting the project deadlines
• Proficient in the use of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Bluebeam
