POOL SERVICE TECHNICIAN

Who is a Pool Service Technician?
***The Pool Technician role is responsible for all aspects of repair and maintenance of our swimming pools / hot tubs / cold plunges. This role works to ensure the highest function of all aspects of both member-facing and associate areas relating to our pool program. This role is also responsible for reporting on work progress and completion, including providing training for the safe operation of our pools to Club associates.

What will you be doing?

Perform service and repairs across multiple locations.
Perform a variety of tasks around the operation, maintenance, cleaning and servicing of water. This includes performing tests for chlorine, pH, calcium hardness, TDS and total alkalinity.
Treat water with chemicals to maintain a safe and healthy water quality and monitor chemical usage. Calibrate chemical automation and diagnose problems and implement immediate corrective action as required.
Wash and scrub pool area, make all efforts to provide a clean pool / spa deck. Maintain cleanliness of mechanical room, storage rooms, electrical and boiler rooms
Demonstrate a continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality service. Look for best practice in pool operations and work to implement as required.
Evaluate outside maintenance needs, engage third party service when required.
Report on work progress and completion.
Ensure the highest safety standards are met in pool area ensure pool log book is up to date and regulations are being followed. Perform monthly facility safety inspections and audits on pools / spas. Establish and coordinate annual preventative maintenance programs.
Order parts and materials through local and national vendors as needed.
Recognize where extra support is needed to manage total workload, and communicate with manager to supplement with extra resources where required.
Communicate with stakeholders within our department, and across the Company, to maintain a clear understanding of progress.
Initiates updates with Club General Managers and support staff so they have a clear picture of outstanding issues.
Works directly with Service Coordinators and Purchasers to document any needs or support required.
Updates Pool Services Supervisor on scheduling / external service support needs / larger issues.
Practices safe working habits at all times
Follows all health & safety best practices when carrying out service and maintenance.
Obeys all traffic laws and practice safe and professional driving habits in company vehicles.

Do you have what it takes?

High school diploma
13 years of operating / maintaining a body of water
Previous experience in fitness industry an asset. Previous experience in all aspects of facility maintenance an asset.
Certified Pool Operator (CPO) cert or Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO) cert
Valid driver's license
