Content Lawyer (Insolvency and Restructuring and/or Personal Injury): Practical Guidance - 12 Month Contract


LexisNexis Canada has an immediate opening for a recently practicing lawyer with 3+ years of experience in Insolvency and Restructuring and/or Personal Injury law to join a team of experienced professionals responsible for the development and strategic direction of Practical Guidance, an innovative online resource designed specifically for Canadian lawyers.

This is a full-time role with competitive compensation, work-life balance, and a hybrid/remote work arrangement. We are looking for a self-motivated lawyer with superior writing skills who can work both collaboratively and independently.

You are looking for an alternative legal career that capitalizes on your legal knowledge and practice area expertise and a collegial, high calibre team of experienced lawyers at a company that advances the rule of law and social responsibility.

The Content Lawyer (Insolvency and Restructuring and/or Personal Injury) will:

  • Write, review and edit practice notes, checklists, flowcharts, precedents and other practice-related materials
  • Ensure currency and relevancy of all materials included in the product
  • Monitor trends and legal developments in the practice areas
  • Monitor competitiveness of the product offering
  • Recruit and manage relationships with legal practitioners and firms across Canada to create and deliver content that reflects leading legal and business practices
  • Make recommendations concerning overall content strategy and expansion
  • Work within a crossfunctional team to execute on the content and product development strategies, and ensure the delivery of highquality content within mandated timelines
  • Support sales and marketing efforts via product demonstrations, trainings and other initiatives
  • Maintain relationships with key LexisNexis stakeholders within Canada, the US and the UK

Basic Qualifications:

  • J.D./LL.B. and member of one or more of the bars of any Canadian province or territory (active and in good standing)
  • 3+ years of practice experience in Insolvency and Restructuring and/or Personal Injury

What we are looking for in you:

  • Deep knowledge of Insolvency and Restructuring and/or Personal Injury trends and workflow
  • Strong professional network of Insolvency and Restructuring and/or Personal Injury lawyers
  • Strong, practical writer with the ability to write effectively and concisely within prescribed timelines
  • Experience in drafting or editing client materials, law journals, CLE presentations or other legal writing
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Proficient with MS Office products
  • Highly organized, selfmotivated and detailoriented
  • Fluent in the French language is an asset
