SUMMARY OF POSITION:


Leading the corporate schedule support team, the Staff Scheduling Manager will supervise a team of Portfolio Clerks and system administrators.

Working with Human Resources, Finance, General Managers and department managers across the organization, the Staff Scheduling Manager is responsible to ensure the best use of people resources, alignment with budgets and the values of WCSHM.


RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Engage and mobilize your team to achieve the purpose, goals, objective and key results of the organization.
  • Be an engaged collaborative team player, developing and maintaining professional relationships that support and strengthen the WCSHM/organizational culture and purpose.
  • Model the values and leadership behaviours of WCSHM/organization and inspire other to do the same.
  • Providing strategic leadership for corporate Staffing Services
  • Supports and facilitates the flow of communication, standard staffing policies and procedure development, protocol and guideline development
  • Provide leadership and direction to direct reports
  • Works with internal and external stakeholders to support effective workforce utilization
  • Works collaboratively through the interpretation of several collective agreements with all stakeholders
  • Develops and leads community staffing reviews, overtime and double time review, and difficult to fill shift as well as other KPI information
  • Creates and maintains work schedules for portfolio clerks
  • Monitors and provides regular performance feedback to scheduling team
  • Conducts performance reviews
  • Manages and initiates changes to master rotation and position control numbers in system
  • Manages and processes the payroll for the scheduling team
  • Develops staff scheduling best practices within the department
  • Providing support to system users and corporate Staffing Services
  • Supports and facilitates quality assurance and data reports from the system
  • Develops training materials and supporting training documentation for all end users (managers, scheduling team, employees)
  • Provides all necessary training as it relates to the scheduling office and scheduling system
  • Develops and leads community gathering documents as required
  • Supports the recruitment of schedulers with onboarding and training
  • Supports the development and documentation of staff scheduling best practices within the department
  • Other duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field
  • Experience in a unionized setting and working knowledge of standard policies and practices, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
