Position Summary


As a Construction Project Manager in our Plant Operations group, you will manage a diverse portfolio of construction projects across our buildings and facilities in Canada and the United States.

You'll be responsible for ensuring that these projects are delivered on time and on budget.

What You Will Do

  • Develop and maintain the construction schedule in conjunction with project team to meet milestones and completion dates;
  • Identify risks that could impact delivery schedules and develop mitigation strategies;
  • Ensure that all projects are built to approved plans, specifications, shop drawings, applicable building codes;
  • Monitor and ensure that quality standards are met throughout the project;
  • Coordinate procurement activities with our Purchasing department, liaising with them to ensure a competitive bid process and recognition of value add opportunities;
  • Ensure all stakeholders are kept informed through regular communication throughout the project; and
  • Various other duties and responsibilities.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge and Experience_
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred
  • 3+ years of project management (construction/renovations) experience
  • Understanding and ability to read blueprints, layouts, drawings, schematics, etc.
  • Experience with site preparation, equipment installations, cost estimation (assets)
  • Knowledge of relevant related government legislation in the areas of construction, fire codes, environment, occupation health and safety regulations, etc.
  • Skills and Abilities_
  • Proficiency with MS Project
  • Proficiency with MS 365 (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, SharePoint, etc.)
  • Familiarity with design layout software (SketchUp, CAD, etc.)
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Excellent organization/prioritization/time management skills
  • Customer centric mindset
  • Economic thinking

Mandatory Requirements

  • Ability to obtain and maintain Government of Canada Secret (Level II) clearance.
  • Ability to travel domestically/internationally up to 24 weeks/year
