SERVICE TECHNICIAN - Job Description.

Job Summary:

The Service Technician is accountable for the proficient installation and routine maintenance of industrial equipment, specializing in Energylogic waste oil furnaces, boilers, Landa industrial pressure washers, etc.

A substantial portion of this role involves constructing mounts, setting up chimneys in new and existing buildings, and performing general equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.

This position demands extensive travel within the Maritime provinces, including overnight stays during specific periods.

A base salary is provided during regular working hours, supplemented with an additional $6 per hour when on the road overnight.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Execute diverse duties for the installation and maintenance of industrial equipment.
  • Provide emergency and unscheduled repairs for industrial furnaces, boilers, and pressure washers.
  • Conduct scheduled preventative and routine maintenance.
  • Perform construction and carpentry tasks related to installations in new and existing buildings.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders accurately.
  • Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test equipment, and make necessary adjustments.
  • Undertake plumbing maintenance and steel piping duties as required.
  • Use a variety of construction and maintenance power tools and industrial equipment.
  • Adhere to safety regulations, standards, and codes for all job duties.
  • Complete paperwork, work orders, and hourly reports in an efficient and organized manner.
  • Attend required staff meetings.
  • Maintain orderly parts and equipment inventory in the company vehicle.
  • Keep uptodate with ongoing changes and new technology in the industry.
  • Perform minor construction work during equipment installations.
  • Operate and maintain company vehicles safely.

Requirements:


  • High school diploma/GED; relevant job experience considered in lieu of minimum education.
  • Work experience in mechanical, plumbing, and/or construction fields.
  • Ability to multitask, meet goals and timelines, and establish priorities.
  • Highly motivated, capable of independent and team work.
  • Strong technical and troubleshooting capabilities.
  • Valid driver's license with a clear drivers abstract and no criminal record.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Work Conditions:


  • 24/7 availability may be required during peak times.
  • Physical ability to lift and carry up to 100lbs infrequently.
  • Extensive weekly travel to work sites is mandatory.
  • Overtime required during peak seasons.
  • Hazards associated with mechanical and construction trades.
  • Willingness to work both indoors and outdoors as required, including exposure to construction sites. All safety precautions and personal gear are mandatory.

Job Types:

Salary:
$18.00-$26.00 per hour

Expected hours: 45 per week
