Position Summary:
Reporting to the Manager, Student Communications, Engagement & Social Media, the position will be responsible for conceptualizing, producing, and editing video content for our social media platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop initial outlines, storyboards, interview questions and/or scripts.
- Obtains necessary approvals; drafts project costing/funding proposals.
- Prepares/sets schedules and production timelines.
- Arrange equipment, and prepare data cards, batteries, etc.
- Organizes transportation of equipment and/or crew to campus locations if required. Loading, unloading and set up of all equipment.
- Directs talent and crew and prepares all production elements including lighting and ensures the safety of all talent and crew.
- Analyses all audio and video footage to determine best takes of primary assets and broll.
- Performs final selection of elements/digital assets with storyboards, outlines, scripts, and staff as guidelines.
- Determines/selects music and obtains all necessary rights for usage.
- Assembles picture, soundtrack, graphics, and narration. Edits these materials using a variety of editing software and equipment to prepare rough cuts, including , Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
- Continuously analyses social media metrics, such as engagement rates, reach, and conversion rates, to evaluate the effectiveness of video content. Utilize datadriven insights to identify areas for improvement, refine strategies, and optimize all channels' performance.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Educational and Experience Requirements:
- Threeyear diploma/degree from a recognized postsecondary institution plus a professional certification or equivalent.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a social media video content producer. Proficiency with handson video recording as well as directing crew in the use of digital camera, lighting, sound, and teleprompter equipment.
- Technical expertise in editing software; , FinalCut Pro, Logic, Adobe Creative Suite including Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Audition and Premiere Pro. Extensive knowledge of video codecs, compositing, transcoding, and video formatting across channels (i.e. web, mobile, social media, broadcast). Experience in scheduling and production management.
- Excellent time management skills and selfmotivated work ethic.
- Able to travel between campuses.
- Demonstrated collaboration, interpersonal, and teamwork skills at a professional level.
- Demonstrated commitment to uphold the College's priorities on diversity and equity.
Interview process may consist of a practical skills component.

- The College requires proof of degrees, credentials or equivalencies from accredited regional or federal postsecondary institutions and/or their international equivalents. Credentials may require validation at the time of interviews or offer.
- First consideration will be provided to regular part time (RPT) support staff in accordance with the part time Support Staff Collective Agreement.
