PRINCIPAL DUTIES
The open position is for Project Control and Planning within the hydro turbine mechanical engineering group.
The design team is responsible for the design of large hydro turbine components with a primary focus on North American projects.
This team is located at the Andritz Hydro Pointe-Claire, head office of Andritz Hydro Canada.By your contribution you will participate in the realization of hydro turbine project, the main source of green electricity, a technology evolving since more than 100 years.
The principal duties of this position include:
- Projects:
- Develop with the local manager, local team leads and project management group a resourced engineering plan
- Maintain the plan throughout its life cycle (weekly basis) working collaboratively with the members of the team
- Interface with the Project team and ensure proper updates are made to allow Project master schedule to reflect accurately the progress of Engineering.
- Monitor the key performance indicators
- Assist team leads in changes to the plan (scope, duration and/or timing)
- Assist the team leaders in understanding the overall critical path and strategies to be developed to recover float if required.
- Develop engineering hours estimate for proposition
Team administration:
- Consolidate all individual projects to assist manager in overall resource utilization assessment(s)
- Assist the local manager in making cross project prioritization decisions (understand across project impacts of changes in resource assignments).
- SAP key user for engineering module
- Monitor department KPIs for all projects and activities.
- Provide WBS level data on performance to be used to improve estimating and identify areas for improvement.
- Support to documents and knowledge management
Other:
- Assist Team leads in reviewing their projects which may include organization of project reviews
- Assist team leads and manager for follow up of subcontracted engineering.
- Support reporting workload forecast to management
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor degree in Engineering or Administration;
- Experience in project management or project control;
- Good knowledge of Primavera P6
- Excellent interpersonal skills:
- Ability to work with people in a team environment;
- Effective oral and written communication skills;
- SAP software knowledge an asset;
- Comfortable in managing / organizing data in Excel;
- Excellent problem solving skills, sound judgment, initiative & creativity;
- French and English speaking;
- Legal status to work in Canada is required.
