Wesdome is a Canadian focused gold producer with two high grade underground assets, the Eagle River mine in Ontario and the recently commissioned Kiena mine in Quebec.

SUMMARY

RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Conduct all work in compliance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act, Regulations for Mines and Mining Plants and all other applicable government standards and regulations.
  • Be proficient in AutoCad, Promine, Deswik and Excel for planning related purposes.
  • Gain a fundamental knowledge of the working mine drawings in order to act as a secondary check if requested.
  • Work with members of the team (including shortterm and longterm personnel) to ensure that the mine plan is realistic, and followed in an effective and productive manner.
  • Be responsible for the creation and edits of shortterm layouts and designs.
  • Complete and present monthly forecasts including scheduling, designs, and drawings.
  • Assist in the yearly budget process including scheduling, designs, and drawings.
  • Assist the longterm Production Planner in the yearly lifeofmine process.
  • Work with all levels of the organization to ensure that any designs are as safe, accurate, and economical as possible.
  • Maintain master levels and longitudinal drawings on a consistent basis as new information becomes available while closely working with the Geology team.
  • Coordinate with the Electrical Department on a regular basis to ensure that the electrical infrastructure is able to supply the future mine plans and that all are required upgrades are budgeted/received in a timely manner.
  • Assist junior members of the department in their professional growth through coaching and sharing your knowledge.
  • Commit to proper preoperational check and safe operation of any equipment required for the job.
EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Possess at least 2 years of experience in a related field and possess a mine engineering college diploma or degree (or be willing to work towards their Ontario certification within a designated timeframe).
  • Common Core modules (provided onsite if required).
  • Full valid Ontario driver's license (Or obtain it within a reasonable timeframe).
