You will have the opportunity to collaborate, build your network and gain on-the-job experience.**Role Designation:**Hybrid (work from office 3 /4 days a week)**Job description:**To support the short- and long-term strategic objectives, this role involves enforcing data standards, policies, and procedures, and collaborating with various teams to maintain data integrity to ensure it supports business objectives.**Responsibilities:**During your placement you will have the opportunity to:* Define and maintain data dictionaries and metadata repositories to provide a comprehensive view of organizational data assets.* Establish and enforce data quality standards, metrics, and monitoring mechanisms to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and completeness.* Define and enforce data standards, best practices, and guidelines to ensure data consistency and usability.**Qualifications:**We are looking for a student who is:* Currently in their 3rd or 4th year pursuing a Bachelor degree with a focus in Data Science* Analytical mindset, structured thinker and effective communicator.* Proficient in Excel and Visio.* Experience writing and documenting SQL code.* Experience working with Metadata, both defining and assessing quality.* An understanding of data practices (eg Metadata, Quality, Lineage, etc).**Bonus qualification:*** Knowledge and experience with Data Catalog/Governance tools using Informatica (preferred), Alation, Collibra, Purview is a plus.Allstate Canada Group has policies and practices that provide workplace accommodations.
