The position at a glance


Americas Core Banking IT is in charge of managing all technology matters for Core Banking, AT2 and feed to Finance systems and ledger.

Functions include managing the IT resources pertaining to Business Analyst, Solution Architects, Development, improve the efficiency and effectiveness of its IT processes and Level-3 Application Support for the Core Banking/AT2 systems, regulatory reporting and interface to ledger systems.

He/she also collaborates closely with Global Banking Operations, Finance/Fresh, Cash Management and Transaction Banking business and Loan Servicing business and Governance teams to ensure timely review and prioritization of initiatives/projects, on-schedule delivery of projects, and overall risk reduction in the production platform.

In detail

At the regional ops line-level:

  • Act as a liaison between Global Banking (GB) Operations, Finance and Cash management product teams to understand their needs and strategy; provide a holistic vision on how to achieve the objectives of the GB Operations, Business and Finance.
  • Improve GB Business and Operations performance with the development and implementation of IT solutions that enhance efficiency and productivity:
  • Identify areas of improvement based on feedback from the business lines / functions, regional GB Operations, and the Process Improvement team
  • Ensure continuous improvement by performing periodic reviews and assessment of the IT platforms (enhancements / bugs / issues):
  • Define the schedule / priorities to address enhancements / bug fixes / issues
  • Contribute to reinforcing operational controls and permanent control framework through close collaboration with Governance, Compliance, Audit, and 2OPC
  • Oversee the management of Americas Core Banking IT projects:
  • Ensure efficient and effective collaboration between IT, Finance, Business, Operations and Project management teams on IT projects and initiatives
  • Ensure that CIB ITO Americas and BNPP Group project management governance and methodology are applied on a consistent basis
  • Participate in IT strategy definition in conjunction with global Core Banking IT
  • Coordinate the regional portion of global ITO-GB initiatives / projects in collaboration with teams from other regions, support deployment of major CIB group initiatives, and oversee the testing, development, and rollout of new functionalities / system enhancements
  • Instill a culture of "continuous improvement" within the IT team of the Core Banking IT and serve as role model
  • Ensure close collaboration and coordination between IT I&P and GB IT APS for support, maintenance, and upgrades
  • Participate in NACs, TACs, and NPCs
  • Coordinate and participate in monthly meetings with the heads of the operations and business to provide status on RTB and CTB issues (e.g., bug fixes, enhancements, IT development, projects, etc.)
  • Stay abreast of operations from a processing perspective to enhance technical / systems knowledge in the Core Banking industry
  • Manage and empower the team by motivating, informing and delegating responsibility to its members. Define the team's objectives and priorities. Foster a positive and constructive working environment.
  • Mentor the team, promoting the staff's professional development within and across ops lines. Identify the training needs of the team and arrange for continuing education to meet those needs.

The strengths and skills that will help you succeed

  • Broad commercial banking experience with strong technology background and familiarity with a wide range of banking products and processes, including but not limited to Core Banking, Cash Management, Payments, Credit Management, Lending Operations, ALM, Trade Finance, Management Accounting, and Financial Reporting
  • Extensive project management experience with the ability to:
  • Develop project planning
  • Allocate resources
  • Assess project risks
  • Perform periodic reassessment of project progress / project rebaselining
  • Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills
  • Excellent verbal / presentation and written communication skills
  • The Knowledge of English is required
  • Good organizational and planning skills
  • Ability to lead a staff of 10+ and to foster team spirit
  • Strong client orientation / client service skills
