Salary:

$77, $99,968.00 annual starting wage, depending on experience and qualifications as per the BCGEU Faculty Collective Agreement (with annual increments up to a maximum salary of $99, Vacation entitlement is 240 hours annually (pro-rated from hire date for current year), and utilized during the summer months. We offer paid time off between Christmas and New Year's, and an excellent extended health and dental package. Enrolment in the College Pension Plan is mandatory, with basic contributions matched by the employer.


Description:


The NLC Trades Department is currently seeking an experienced tradesperson to provide instruction for the Steamfitter/Pipefitter Trades Level 1 and 2 programs.


The Piping Trades Foundation Training program encompasses the foundational technical training required to enter into the trades of Plumber and Steamfitter/Pipefitter.

The training includes all the relevant technical training to successfully complete the Foundation/Level 1 SkilledTradesBC learning outcomes for both trades simultaneously.

Students who successfully complete this training will have satisfied the SkilledTradesBC requirements for their level 1 training in either trade.


Qualifications:


  • Required:_


  • Steamfitter/Pipefitter

  • Certificate of Qualification with Red Seal endorsement.
- 'B' Level Gas Certification

  • Five years recent industry experience after completion of Red Seal certification.
  • Five years of industry experience as a Gasfitter
  • Class B
  • Experience with the MS Office Suite software (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
  • Committed to student motivation and success.
  • Ability to collaborate as an effective team member; and
  • Current, valid driver's license.
  • Preferred:_
  • The Provincial Instructor Diploma Program or an equivalent credential in adult education, or a readiness to pursue such a credential.
  • Two years of supervisory experience would be considered an asset.
  • Demonstrable success in teaching at the postsecondary level; and
  • Experience instructing a culturally diverse group of students, including Indigenous and international students
