We are looking for a Governance Advisor


As a
Governance Advisor, you will be responsible for providing a wide range of services with a view to ensuring highest levels of corporate governance practices and promotes work towards improving the working and professional efficiency and effectiveness of CMH Board of Directors and CMH's internal corporate governance framework.


In collaboration with the team, the Governance Advisor facilitates support to the Corporate Secretary in activities associated with the Board of Directors, ensuring the Board of Directors is kept informed of relevant issues and managing CMH's important documentation.

The functions and responsibilities of Corporate Secretariat are critical to the achievement of the objectives of the Corporation.

As such, the governance analyst will be called upon to perform a variety of duties and responsibilities typically performed within a corporate secretariat environment to ensure good governance.

The work environment is agile, collaborative and fast paced.


What we are looking for:


  • Excellent interpersonal skills and proven ability to develop working relationships at all levels in the organization;
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and maintain composure in stressful situations;
  • Confidence and ability to manage multiple tasks within established deadlines;
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills;
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written) in English and French.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Requirements:


  • Undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Law or in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • A minimum of three (3) to five (5) years experience in law, governance, compliance, secretariat or related experience;
  • Minimum of one (1)year experience providing advice and support to a board or executive management.
  • Awareness of communication and stakeholder engagement;
  • Experience working in a Crown corporation environment would be considered an asset;
  • Knowledge of the museum environment is an asset ;
  • Understanding of corporate governance structures that enhance business strategies and operations would be considered an asset.

Specific working conditions:


  • At times required to attend meetings or coordinate activities on evenings and weekends;
  • Frequently changing deadlines and schedules.

Compensation:
$ 81,791 to $ 112,041 (under review)

Status:
Temporary Full-Time Position (# from July 2023 until September 30, 2024.


Security Clearance:
Enhanced Reliability.
