TDG is currently seeking an
Accounts Payable Supervisor for our Orangeville headquarters. The Accounts Payable Supervisor is required to oversee the day-to-day activities of the Accounts Payable department.

The AP Supervisor is also responsible for the planning of departmental workload and flow and the disbursement of non-payroll accounts payable.

This role includes maintaining and updating financial spreadsheets and performing other administrative duties of the Accounts Payable department. The AP Supervisor will also ensure the timely and accurate processing of payment documents. This position involves providing billing information and support to facilitate bank reconciliations. Other duties shall be assigned as required.

Skills and Knowledge:


  • Ability to read and interpret procedure manuals and reports.
  • Skilled in calculating discounts, interest, proportions, percentages, and taxes.
  • Ability to analyze and present numerical data in tables, spreadsheets, and forms.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Sound knowledge and experience with Accounts Payable software.
  • Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience.
  • Postsecondary diploma in Accounting.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and coordinate the functions of the Accounts Payable department.
  • Analyze Accounts Payable operations and identify areas for improvement.
  • Professionally interact with company auditors, tax auditors and tax recovery specialists as required.
  • Prepare reconciliations of supplier accounts and purchase orders.
  • Provide training and coaching to AP staff.
  • Analyze and approve new suppliers, terms, credit limits and discounts.
  • Adhere to and enforce the policies and procedures for the Accounts Payable department.
  • Update training materials and departmental procedures as needed.
  • Provide trouble shooting support to all AP personnel.
  • Plan and conduct meetings with AP staff to ensure compliance with established practices.
  • Update AP staff with new policies, changes and current standards.
  • Ensure an accurate understanding of company policies.
  • Plan the department's workload and flow.
  • Answer queries and complaints from vendors with respect to payment status and diffuse any potential issues.
  • Review and investigate invoices and communicate errors to relevant parties and departments.
  • Other duties shall be assigned as required.
