    Ashbury College is a leading not-for-profit independent day and boarding school for students in Grades 4 to 12 located in Canada's capital and the traditional, unceded territory of the Anishinàbe Algonquin Nation. We serve a diverse community of over 60 nationalities from around the National Capital Region, the International diplomatic community, and international and domestic boarding students.

    Reporting to the Department Head of Business and Technology, you will be responsible for the delivery of an exceptional classroom experience for our economics students.

    Specific responsibilities include:

  • Teach full time (5 classes)
  • Two terms of co-curricular involvement through athletics, the arts or clubs
  • Lead a Teacher Advisory Group
  • Provide on-call teaching as required
  • Actively participate in Department meetings, faculty teaching and learning opportunities, and whole school activities.
  • This is a full-time teaching position starting late August .

    As the successful candidate, you have teaching experience and demonstrated economics expertise ideally with the related Ontario and/or IB curriculum. You also have a history of school and community involvement, bringing enthusiasm and energy to the classroom, thriving in a busy learning community, working collaboratively with colleagues, and leading co-curricular activities. Your teaching practice includes current learning theories, creative use of technology, and imaginative course design and delivery. Priority will be given to candidates who are Ontario College of Teachers certified.
