Qualifications:


  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Licensed with the College of Audiologists & Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO).
  • Previous experience with assessment and management of swallowing and communication disorders in an acute care setting is required
  • Experience with Surgical patients is required
  • Experience with Oncology and Palliative care patients is highly preferred
  • Current experience with videofluoroscopic swallowing studies (VFSS) is required
  • Certification in MBSImp (for videofluoroscopic swallow studies) is preferred. If not MBSImp certified, then willingness to become certified is required.
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development, including clinical education with students and/or mentorship of Initial Practice Registrants.
  • Must have excellent communication, organizational and teamwork skills and be selfdirected in a changing work environment, including multiple work settings to support clinical needs hospitalwide
  • Must have demonstrated initiative and ability to make timely professional decisions
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuing education as relevant to clinical practice and professional growth
