Qualifications:

Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
Licensed with the College of Audiologists & Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO).
Previous experience with assessment and management of swallowing and communication disorders in an acute care setting is required
Experience with Surgical patients is required
Experience with Oncology and Palliative care patients is highly preferred
Current experience with videofluoroscopic swallowing studies (VFSS) is required
Certification in MBSImp (for videofluoroscopic swallow studies) is preferred. If not MBSImp certified, then willingness to become certified is required.
Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development, including clinical education with students and/or mentorship of Initial Practice Registrants.
Must have excellent communication, organizational and teamwork skills and be selfdirected in a changing work environment, including multiple work settings to support clinical needs hospitalwide
Must have demonstrated initiative and ability to make timely professional decisions
Demonstrated commitment to continuing education as relevant to clinical practice and professional growth
