Role Summary:
Agency Manager for its Mississauga office.

Apex Fund Services provides fundadministration services to a wide variety of alternative fund structures in the HedgeFunds, Private Equity, Real Estate and Fund of Funds market:
deliverables are met in a timely and correct manner.

The Assistant Vice President willreport into the Vice President who is the Head of Transfer Agency in MississaugaThe Assistant Vice President must ensure adherence to Internal Transfer Agencyprocedures in addition to both internal and Regulatory AML requirements at all timesSkills Required:

  • Review controls and procedures across Fund Services on a periodic basisIdentify and Implement process improvements/system enhancements across theTransfer Agency Department.-Monitor operational risk across the Business and assist with the enhancement of theexisting operational risk framework
Operational risk scenario modelling and analysisAssist in building out and training the current teams.

Keep up to date on all Regulatory and internal Risk updates that impact the businessensuring the operations Teams have the necessary knowledge and system's in place todeal with the updates-Managing the oversight outsourcing for funds contracted from other jurisdictionsMonitoring and enhancing the KRI metrics for the DepartmentManaging international client relationships- Interacting with hedge fund principals and their investors- Review, understand and have the ability to discuss fund governing documents withstaff and clientsResponsible for all aspects of operations and controls functions: Processingsubscriptions, redemptions, transfers and switches.

Ensure control framework and documented Transfer Agency procedures and policiesin line with regulations both locally and globally
Ensuring Apex Fund Services group policies are adhered toResponding to investor and audit related enquiriesEnsure all regulatory reporting (onshore and offshore) is delivered within the requiredtimeframes
Providing periodic reports and feedback to senior managementParticipate in presentations for business opportunities from new and existing clientsBe responsible for change management where required including Ad hoc projectmanagement (as required)-Assisting in the further development of new & existing global client relationships,optimizing service offerings, productivity and profitabilityCompetencies:Five plus years of proven experience managing an Investor Services/Transfer Agencyteam for alternative funds at a top tier institutional fund administratorDetailed knowledge of Transfer Agency systems, preferably Paxus, eFrontFlexibility

Up to date AML/KYC knowledgeUp to date FATCA knowledgeA very strong understanding of fund legal structures and the fund administrationbusiness- Strong leadership skills with demonstrated ability to drive changeStrong Risk & control focusDemonstrated ability to manage complex projectsStrong planning, organizational skills and entrepreneurial skills Knowledge of accounting, finance and investment conceptsStrong communication (verbal and written) and problem-solving skillsMust be able to work with all levels within the organizationStrong multi-tasking skillsThe ability to adapt to changing priorities and varied decision-making scenariosAn ability and desire to work to tight deadlinesGood interpersonal skills to develop working relationships with colleagues, clients,other divisions/ offices of the bank and professional intermediariesAdditional information:favourable treatment on the grounds of gender, gender identity, marital status, race,colour, nationality, ethnicity, age, sexual orientation, socio-economic, responsibilities fordependants, physical or mental disability.
