Scrum Master - Vaughan, Canada - GFL Environmental Inc.
Description
GFL Environmental is looking for a Scrum Master to join our team in Vaughan, ON The Scrum Master will be responsible for familiarity with Agile, Scrum, ITILv4, Lean and the software development lifecycle.
While you will be responsible for the usual identification and removal of bottlenecks, Scrum events (used to be called ceremonies), and servant leadership; you will also be educating those around you to be more Agile; building relationships with stakeholders and contributors and helping choose the best processes, practices and tools for our environment.
This role will be heavily involved in the migration of legacy products and platforms to new cloud hosting platforms, while ensuring the products that cannot be rearchitected are still functional.
The main target of the replatforming work will be AWS and part of the role will include leading and reporting on tool feasibility and implementation work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to continuous improvement by reviewing processes and identifying bottlenecks.
- Help Senior team members compile weekly reports on progress, performance and incidents.
- Contribute to the onboarding and training of new and more junior team members.
- Ensure all voices are heard and that people are treated with respect.
- Provide employees with challenges and nurture employee excellence.
- Maintain an ongoing awareness of changes within the company and within our tech stacks.
The Technologies:
- AWS the focus of all our current modernization efforts.
- AWS Lambda for our serverless future state.
- VMware our starting point Dynatrace knowing what is happening.
- Terraform & Ansible automation is critical.
- Azure DevOps work items, version control, Git repos and YAML pipelines.
- Software Defined Networks knowing how to route between data centers and the cloud and control the edge.
- Cloudflare/Imperva security at the edge.
- SonarQube security by design.
- CyberArk managing secrets and identity access.
- Slack for platform integrations and communication.
Knowledge, Skills and Competencies:
- AWS certification: AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner.
- 3 or more years working in a DevOpsrelated profession.
- Experience working with AWS, Azure or GCP at medium to enterprise scale.
- Knowledge of and experience working with Agile, Scrum and Lean methodologies.
- An understanding of the culture of DevOps and its origins.
- Awareness of the State of DevOps report and DORA.
- Knowledge of SOC2 compliance requirements.
- Strong scripting knowledge with a desire to automate.
- Experience working in a multicultural global team in multiple time zones.
- Troubleshooting and root cause analysis experience.
