Position Summary


The HR Coordinator, Total Rewards position is accountable for supporting various human resources activities including benefits, disability, leaves, onboarding, and related transactions during the employee life cycle.

This position will also be required to assist with delivering generalist HR duties, as may be needed, to ensure effective delivery of HR services and programs across the organization.

Duties and Key Responsibilities- Responsible for the coordination and administration of employee benefits with Manulife, Open Circle and National Health Claim including assisting with employee enrolment and renewal process, dealing with administration portals, resolving issues, updating of records, and reporting.- Actively participate in the annual Benefits renewal process by helping to coordinate the process, preparing, and updating systems, reviewing, and updating materials, verifying data etc.- Providing support and education to employees and managers on benefits inquiries and to escalate general Total Rewards-related questions/concerns to HR Business Partners.- Coordinating retirement information sessions for employees.- Coordinating all disability and leave processes including administering the approval process and following up on STD, LTD, Parental Leave, and LOA files to ensure they are effectively handled end-to-end.- Maintain accurate employee data and changes in HR system of record and conduct routine audits to ensure data integrity- Oversee Alcohol & Drug testing process, and background checks.- Participate in external compensation and benefits surveys- Support delivery of annual compensation incentive pay programs- Contribute to the development and execution of the total rewards programs through data-driven analysis, program design, and implementation.- Tracking and reporting all service awards including facilitating service award payments.- Completing employee life cycle changes and ensuring data integrity in all systems and portals- Coordinate and participate in the delivery of new hire onboarding for hourly and salaried employees.- Assist with delivering generalist HR duties, as may be needed, to ensure effective delivery of HR services and programs across the organization- Ensure accuracy and integrity of Total Rewards related data in Workday through regular audits and data coordination.


Qualifications and Experience- Degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business, Commerce, Social Sciences, or other related areas.- Minimum of 3 years related work experience in benefits and disability management.

A combination of education and experience may also be considered.- Strong verbal and written communication skills.- Active listening skills, attention to details, responsive, documentation, and good follow-up practices.- Good analytical mind, approachable, proactive, and professional attitude.- Good judgment, patience, escalating issues when appropriate, and request prioritization of responsibilities.- Persuasive and ability to stay calm while resolving issues.- Experience in the construction industry is an asset.
