Covering over 2 million square feet, the MTCC is Canada's largest convention facility, boasting seven exhibit halls, two large capacity ballrooms, and a beautiful 1,232 seat theatre among its many assets. It also houses 70 fully furnished meeting rooms, and 167,000 square feet of beautifully decorated prefunction spaces.

The MTCC is conveniently connected to Toronto's Union Station railway and transit station through the Skywalk and is also accessible via the city's underground PATH system.

MTCC is a Crown Corporation of the Province of Ontario and is proudly governed and led by an executive management team and an independent board of directors comprised of senior private sector business leaders.

Reporting to the Beverage Manager, you will ensure the best possible service to our guests, and that the quality of beverage service is maintained to exceed client requirements for maximum guest satisfaction.

Assist in managing the department's day to day operations while ensuring the necessary steps are taken during functions to exceed our clients beverage service expectations.
Working with clients and internal departments, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of all aspects of beverage service
Supervision of bar porters and bartenders
Supporting coaching and training of employees
Ensures adherence to Smart Serve regulations
Ensuring team members are following all health and safety procedures

Job Skills and Requirements

23 years of beverage experience in the hospitality industry, preferably within 4 or 5star hotel properties and /or large quality Convention Centres
Supervisory skills(training, coaching, performance management)
Effective communication and interpersonal skills (verbal, listening and written skills)
Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook is essential.
Smart Serve certified
Knowledgeable of the requirements of the Ontario Liquor License Act
Ability to multitask as well as be detail oriented.
Previous experience within a unionized environment is preferred.
Schedule flexibility to work days, afternoon, evenings and nights
