The "Store Associate - Stock Lead" role is an integral part of the store's overall success and efficiency.

Detail oriented and effective work in support of the flow of product from the moment of receipt to the customer through the point of sale or shipping out.

Inventory accuracy, problem solving and communication both internal and with customers are paramount while contributing to the success of the retail floor.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Store Associate Responsibilities Include

  • Ensure inventory accuracy through cycle counts and other practices are being executed and followed by all.
  • Ensure all product data such as MOQ, UOM, vendor pricing, vendor codes, SKU's, barcodes and other data is up to date in databases.
  • Identify and rectify discontinued, new, or products with unknown errors.
  • Keep inventory systems up to date and accurate through systems checks.
  • Input new product information into systems as assigned.

3. Receiving stock and put away

  • Verify, tally, and reconcile incoming shipments accurately and in a speedy manner.
  • Ensure received goods match paperwork, invoices, and purchase orders.
  • Ensure inventory is put away properly and accurately to retail floor and overstock
  • Communicate with the manager and vendors any damaged items, wrong items or other errors.
  • Label and barcode products for easy identification at a later time.
  • Recycle materials for shipping and dispose of unusable packaging materials.
  • Check for received products that belong to back orders and special orders. Update customers as needed.
  • Ensure warehouse BINs are labeled and organised.

4. Post Sale Customer Service

  • Provide high quality customer service to wholesale and institutional customers, answering questions and solving problems.
  • Follow up with customers whose orders may have delays, backorders, or other issues.
  • Answer customers post sale questions related to issues such as defective items, returns, and lost shipments in accordance with our store policies.
  • Take post sale payments such as extra shipping costs or additional items added to orders.
  • Problem solve and make right any customer complaints or issues with guidance of our company policies.

5. Orders Out

  • Input institutional orders, wholesale orders and other orders not placed directly through websites.
  • Pick, pack, and ship out orders within given customer promised timelines.
  • Optimize shipping costs by packing products safely and efficiently.
  • Ensure the shipping department is stocked with necessary tools and supplies for shipping.
  • Facilitate cross department shipping and returns.
  • Fill out all paperwork, declarations and customs packets for international shipments.

Requirements:


  • Completion of high school and College/CEGEP/vocational or technical training.
  • 2 years work experience in the retail industry.
  • Proven excellent customer service skills.
  • Excellent time management and prioritizing skills.
  • Basic office administration skills.
  • High level of proficiency with Google Office productivity suite Highly effective teamwork skills.
  • Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Strong customer service and troubleshooting skills.
  • Able to plan and organize work effectively and ensure its completion.
  • Welldefined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to learn and adapt to software quickly.
  • Professional, responsive, and positive work attitude is essential.
  • Meticulous records maintenance skills and attention to detail
  • Work well under pressure and in a fast paced environment

  • Ability to maneuver the sales floor, sales shelves, and stock room; climbing, bending, and kneeling are required. Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 25 pounds and, at times, lift and carry product/cartons up to 50 pounds to process product shipment/transfers.

Working Conditions

  • Manual dexterity required to use desktop computers and peripherals.
  • Lift heavy and awkward boxes weighing 50 pounds
  • Overtime as required.
  • Standing for long periods of time, climb multiple flights of stairs a day.
