Position Information

Position Title

Simulation Technician (0.1 FTE)
Position Summary
The Simulation Technician works collaboratively with the Lab staff in the School of Health and Wellness in preforming duties that will enhance student learning across programs with speciality in a simulation environment. The main purpose of this position is to assist the Simulation Lab Coordinator with daytoday operations in a simulation environment while also assisting with school lab organizations and upkeep.
Position Responsibilities
Support Simulation Learning
Maintenance and upkeep of School Labs
Lab Safety

Required Qualifications

Two (2) years of postsecondary training, completion of a community college certificate including trades apprenticeships or equivalent in Healthrelated discipline
Standard First Aid (including CPR), OHS, WHMIS
Technical and mechanical aptitude with ability to troubleshoot electronic equipment
Ability to lift, bend and move heavy equipment essential
Demonstrated critical thinking skills
Basic anatomy, vital signs knowledge required
Ability to work in a demanding environment where ability to prioritize is essential
Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment

Preferred Qualifications

General healthcare knowledge and healthcare terminology is an asset
Experience of training in the art of moulage is an asset
Healthcare background preferred
