The
Foundation Services, Manager, contributes to the overall success of the Scotiatrust's Philanthropic Advisory Services in Canada ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team's business strategies and objectives.

You ensure all activities conducted are compliant with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures. Scotiatrust is the administrative agent of Aqueduct Foundation, a Canadian public foundation with donor advised funds.


You are responsible for a team of Foundation Services professionals to ensure the highest standard of support and care to our donors as well as strategically managing and administering all aspects of donor services, including acknowledgements and receipting, monthly giving donation processing, and gift processing.

Additionally, you will play a key role in training and developing the Foundations Services team to ensure a consistent donor experience and donor service.


Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

  • Assign and supervise the work of foundation services team to ensure service levels are met.
  • Manages training of foundation services associates, students, consultants
  • Lead, plan and run regular training and meetings with the Foundations Services team.
  • Assists with closing the books as needed to include journal entry preparation, reconciliations, and other duties.
  • Manages communications with Foundations managers, management, and charities.
  • Supervise Foundations Services team including job expectations, performance reviews and metrics.
  • Builds and maintains effective internal partnerships.
  • Limits exposure by ensuring that account administration, including cash management is carried out proactively and in compliance with defined policies/ procedures.
  • Understands how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in daytoday activities and decisions.
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of daytoday business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.
  • Champions a highperformance environment and contributes to positive and inclusive work environment.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:

  • Professional and/or industry accreditation
  • Minimum of 5+ years of directly related experience in foundation services or customer service Experience in building a team approach to problem solving.
  • Detailoriented with strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and a variety of demands.
  • Ability to lead projects to meet expected outcomes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Entrepreneurial and capable of consistently delivering a proactive bestinclass client experience.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • High level of personal initiative and ability to work with mínimal oversight.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Effective at building and maintaining deep relationships and partnerships.
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities without losing focus on key accountabilities.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal communication and professionalism.
  • Deep understanding of the trust and wealth management landscape and a demonstrated ability to work in an environment that demands tact, objectivity, and sensitivity.
  • Strong change management skills and ability to adopt technology and reporting platform changes to support operational improvements, sales management process improvements, etc.
  • Knowledge with Foundant software, preferred.
