We're seeking a skilled FPGA Engineer to work as a contributor to the development and integration of embedded systems for our in-house satellite receivers. The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced start-up environments, and can confidently work independently and collaboratively to deliver mission-critical insights. As a member of the product team, the chosen candidate will work with our software and hardware teams to help drive the development, performance, and stability of Xona's satellite receiver platform forward. This position focuses on FPGA development, with a particular emphasis on real-time signal processing of GNSS signals.

What You'll Do

• Turn advanced DSP algorithms into high-performance RTL for Xilinx RFSoC
• Implement efficient signal processing modules (e.g. correlation, tracking, resampling…) for GNSS waveforms
• Optimize designs for processing speed and resource usage
• Verify designs to ensure timing closure, functional correctness, and resource efficiency
• Develop and maintain automated testbenches and scripts to support verification and system-level testing
• Collaborate with system, embedded software, and RF engineers to integrate and validate a cutting-edge GNSS receiver

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of BS / BEng / BASc in Electrical or Computer Engineering (or similar)
• 3+ years FPGA development experience in VHDL (synthesizable RTL)
• Strong experience with HDL simulation and verification, and having the ability to thoroughly test RTL designs
• Strong DSP fundamentals and experience implementing real-time signal processing in hardware
• Proficiency with AMD FPGA devices and design tools such as Vivado, and simulator tools
• Proficiency in integrating Xilinx IP (e.g. FFT, FIR filter) in hardware designs
• Experience with Python for automation, scripting, data analysis, or algorithm development
• Collaborative development experience with version control (Git/GitLab) and disciplined documentation practices
• Experience with fixed-point arithmetic, timing closure, and FPGA resource optimization

Desired Qualifications

• Curious, motivated, and excited by GNSS technology and next-generation navigation systems
• Experience with Xilinx RFSoC or ZynqMPSoC Ultrascale+, including PL+PS integration
• Experience with digital signal generation and high-speed interfaces (AXI)
• GNSS or navigation signal processing knowledge (GPS, Galileo, BeiDou)
• Testbench automation experience (Cocotb) and scripting in TCL/Python
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and structured software engineering practices
• Strong collaboration skills and ability to take on tasks from a growing list of priorities in a fast-paced environment

Xona est à la recherche d'un(e) ingénieur(e) FPGA pour contribuer au développement et à l'intégration de systèmes embarqués destinés à nos récepteurs satellites développés en interne. Le ou la candidat(e) idéal s'épanouit dans des environnements start-ups en évolution rapide et peut travailler en toute confiance de manière indépendante et collaborative pour fournir des informations essentielles à la mission. En tant que membre de l'équipe produit, le ou la candidat(e) choisi travaillera avec nos équipes logiciel et systèmes pour aider à faire progresser le développement, les performances et la stabilité de la plateforme de réception satellite de Xona. Ce poste est axé sur le développement FPGA, avec une attention particulière portée au traitement du signal en temps réel des signaux GNSS.

Vos Responsabilités

• Traduire des algorithmes DSP avancés en RTL haute performance pour Xilinx RFSoC
• Implémenter des modules de traitement du signal efficaces (par ex. corrélation, tracking, rééchantillonnage…) pour les formes d'onde GNSS
• Optimiser les designs pour la vitesse de traitement et l'utilisation des ressources
• Vérifier les conceptions afin d'assurer le timing, la conformité fonctionnelle et l'efficacité globale
• Développer et maintenir des bancs de test automatisés et des scripts pour soutenir la vérification et les tests au niveau système
• Collaborer avec les ingénieurs RF, logiciels embarqués et systèmes pour intégrer et valider un récepteur GNSS de pointe

Qualifications Requises

• Baccalauréat (BS / Beng / BASc) en génie électrique ou informatique (ou équivalent)
• 3 ans ou plus d'expérience en développement FPGA en VHDL (RTL synthétisable)
• Solide expérience en simulation et vérification HDL, avec la capacité de tester rigoureusement des designs RTL
• Excellentes bases en DSP et expérience dans l'implémentation de traitements du signal en temps réel sur matériel
• Maîtrise des FPGA d'AMD et des outils de conception tels que Vivado, ainsi que des outils de simulation
• Maîtrise de l'intégration d'IP Xilinx (par ex. FFT, filtres FIR) dans des conceptions matérielles
• Expérience avec Python pour l'automatisation, le scripting, l'analyse de données ou le développement d'algorithmes
• Expérience du développement collaboratif avec des outils de gestion de versions (Git/GitLab) et pratiques rigoureuses de documentation
• Expérience en arithmétique à virgule fixe, fermeture temporelle et optimisation des ressources FPGA
