Responsibilities and Experience
- Ensure health and safety is the number one goal by following policies, procedures and always acting in a safe and professional manner
- Review construction plans and designs to ensure accuracy and completeness of construction drawings, bill of materials and PO's
- Manage, coordinate and schedule contracted resources as required to meet project schedules.
- Manage all aspects of fiber and coaxial civil construction activities
- Manage field material, locates, and permits as required for construction activities
- Meet onsite with clients, municipalities, landlords, or property managers to discuss any issues or escalations that arise with construction related activities
- Inspect and sign off on aerial and buried installations to meet applicable construction and city standards
- Ensure project schedules are maintained and strictly adhered to.
- Report on and communicate construction progress to project manager.
- Manage contracted labor quotes, invoicing, asbuilts, performance and quality.
- Drive excellence throughout the organization and contractors in relation to outside plant civil construction
- Recognize and identify potential customer impacting problems and offer viable solutions.
- Keep informed of relative updates, client's procedures and any changes to health and safety regulations
Qualifications
- Must have experience with Bell FTTH network standards and procedures
- Must be familiar with current telecommunications fiber optic and coaxial construction standards
- Must be familiar with CSA, utility specifications and ESA 2204 standards
- Ability to interpret technical material and plans
- Strong interpersonal skills, able to clearly communicate with internal and external project teams
- Detailoriented with solid problem solving and analytical skills
- Multitasking ability; adaptable to changing priorities and deadlines
- Selfmotivated with the ability to take initiative and resolve problems independently; monitors own quality of work
- Must have valid G license
- Strong Microsoft office skills, particularly with excel, word and outlook
