Overview
The Operations Manager will be charged with the effective and efficient running of the day-to-day operations of the clinics, as well as ensuring accreditation standards and recommendations are followed.
In addition, as a member of the West Coast Medical Imaging (WCMI) management team, they will assist in delivering and promoting excellent medical imaging services, facilities management, and resource management.
Qualifications
Education
- Postsecondary education, or combination of education and management experience.
Experience
**Minimum of 3 years of experience working within a healthcare setting preferred. Preference given to those with previous medical imaging experience and demonstrated knowledge of the business and industry, and exposure to RIS/PACS. Business and administrative acumen a must.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills (orally and in writing). Demonstrates ability to communicate effectively with patients and their families, coworkers, physicians, other health care professionals and staff of external agencies.
- Ability to foster a team environment and ensure exceptional patient care/customer service is delivered.
- Must have a valid driver's license and ability to travel between imaging locations; very frequent travel to all WCMI Victoria clinics is a must.
- Efficiency and proficiency with computers. Radiology Information System (RIS & PACS) experience an asset.
- Management experience in a unionized organization an asset.
- Technologist background/experience in a diagnostic imaging modality (ultrasound/xray) an asset.
- Knowledge and or experience with DAP requirements an asset.
- Previous experience with healthcare IT & Networking an asset.
Responsibilities
- Works collaboratively with the management team within territories and between regions must work cooperatively; sharing staffing resources, human and otherwise, assisting with coverage and providing consistency from one region/territory to the next.
- Manages the daytoday work assignments within the support areas and modalities at the clinic(s), ensuring all necessary duties are covered.
- Coordinates staffing including staff schedules, managing sick calls and vacation requests.
- Ensures that patient and physician complaints and followups are handled in a timely manner and escalates to the Manager, takes corrective actions as necessary.
- Establishes and monitors inventory and ordering controls; orders supplies for each assigned clinic.
- Assists employees in the completion of incident reports.
- Coordinates new employee/student orientation to the clinic.
- Assists with facility maintenance and escalates to upper Management as necessary.
- Reports any technical and/or quality issues to the upper management, followsup and takes corrective actions.
- Ensures facilities and equipment are in good working order and monitors the equipment maintenance programs.
- Works collaboratively with staff, escalates equipment issues/downtown as appropriate, ensuring that downtime is minimized.
- Assists in preparation for DAP inspections, compiling required data, records and employee/Radiologist information.
- Ensures that Quality Assurance program standards and procedures are followed, review results, monitor, and evaluate programs.
- Managing staff performance. Specifically, meets monthly with direct reports, provides coaching and feedback and followsup as appropriate.
- Submits billing to MSP
- Physician Relationship activities.
- Other duties as required.
