Job Description:


Under the supervision of the Team Lead, the Contract Administrator will be responsible for reviewing and executing contracts, managing contract changes, and ensuring that contracts are fulfilled according to their terms.

We are seeking a dedicated team member with prior experience in construction implementation within the land development industry who possesses both a collaborative mindset and a strong ability to work independently.


Project focus is on SUBDIVISIONS.

This position will work from our Markham office.
The Contract Administrator is also expected to perform site reviews and project coordination duties as required.


Most Of The Things You'll Be Working On:

  • Oversee and monitor day to day field activities. This will involve interacting with clients, field staff, design team, municipalities and other project stakeholders on a regular basis to ensure the project is carried out in accordance with the contract documents, specifications, and plans
  • Review plans, specifications, and contracts to present and explain contract conditions and details to project stakeholders
  • Maintain an audit file for each contract which will include original contract, all correspondence, changes/deviations, amendments, clarifications, payment schedules
  • Coordinate with project managers, field staff, owners, contractors, and others as required to ensure project goals are met
  • Ensure that contractor is in compliance with legal requirements, owner specifications, and government regulations at all times throughout the project lifespan
  • Facilitate and run construction meetings and issue meeting minutes
  • Support the design team in reviewing designs to provide input for constructability as well as sequencing to ensure efficient project delivery to clients, optimizing construction costs
  • Assist with resolving disputes and claims related to contracts
  • Review and certify Payment Certificates, Change Orders, and other related contract documents, in compliance with the Construction Act
  • Review contractor RFI's and respond in a timely manner;
  • Coordinate review of shop drawings
  • Coordinate with municipalities to ensure that securities are reduced/released in accordance with project milestones
  • Coordinate and provide guidance, mentorship, and training to field staff and project coordinators

Qualifications:


You'll Need To Have:


  • College or University Engineering Diploma/Degree, PEO and/or O.A.C.E.T.T. designation is an asset
  • Possess comprehensive expertise in land development construction with a focus on SUBDIVISION projects
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others and independently on land development projects
  • 5+ years of relevant Site Inspection and Contract Administration experience on Residential Land Development, Road, Linear, and/or ICI projects
  • Effective organizational and interpersonal skills to work independently or within a team and customeroriented environment
  • Experience working with and managing contracts
  • Knowledge and understanding of the legal requirements involved in specific contracts
  • Ability to interpret civil engineering construction drawings and specifications
  • Knowledgeable on earthworks, civil servicing, construction of structures, buildings, and mechanical and electrical installations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong work ethic, motivation and judgment skills
  • Ability to manage numerous projects and staff as required
